By: Sharon Bergersen

Materials:

Size 10 straight needles 1 skein MC, 1 skein CC in worsted weight. If it gets real cold you might want to use a thicker yarn.(you probably don’t need that much. I could knit them and a pair of gloves with a skein. I didn’t measure though) crochet hook yarn needle

Gauge:

For these instructions, I had about 3.5 sts to an inch and about 6.5 rows to an inch.

These instructions are for a women’s medium size foot (mine!). I tried on most of my friends, it fit without getting too big on a size 5, and it fit all the way up to size 10. It’s easily modified.

CO 52 sts, or some other multiple of four, in MC.

Work in garter st. for 16 ridges or about 32 rows.

Change to CC and knit 1 row.

Work in P2, K2 ribbing for about 1.5 inches, or desired length.

Row 1: *P2, bind off 1 st, K1*, repeat between *s till last 6 sts, P2, K2, P2.

Row 2: *P2, cast on 1 st, K1*, repeat between *s till last 6 sts, P2, K2, P2.

K2, P2 one more row and then bind off.

Pick up all 52 sts on cast-on side of MC rectangle.

Using CC, knit one row.

Sew 1 short end of the papoose up, then sew up the two CC strips together for about a inch.

Crochet a lace using MC and lace it up!

Make another one.
